The libraries of Teulada Moraira receive the María Moliner 2022 award

The Municipal Public Library of Teulada and the Moraira Reading Agency have been awarded the 'María Moliner' award 2022 for a value of 2,777.77 euros in cash, which will be invested in books for the two reading centers.

The work, presented for this project competition for reading animation, is entitled 'Visibility for women from libraries', an initiative selected from among 369 other projects from all over Spain. The campaign, organized by the Ministry of Culture y Deporte together with the Coca Cola Foundation, celebrates its XXII edition this year.

Within the project, activities and initiatives such as 'Teuladine and Morairean women of yesterday... and always' either 'The library goes to school: 50 important women of the 20th century and what we have in the 21st'. It is also worth remembering the exhibition of the 'Lilac suitcase', created by the libraries of Altea and Gata de Gorgos; just like him Violet Point, in collaboration with the Department of Equality of the City Council itself; or the two local book clubs.

From the libraries they have remarked that "the interdepartmental collaboration within the City Council, with the educational centers and associations of the population have been a key factor in the awarded project".

In this regard, the Councilor for Culture, Héctor Morales, thanked the award by advocating for the "continuation of reading promotion in all its areas and aimed at all groups in the municipality", this award being "a help to increase the municipal bibliographic fund" .
