The Department of Town planning is conditioning the Camí dels Castellans to improve traffic safety. In recent days, potholes have been made, gravel removed and the step that had remained around the manhole traps aligned.
It must be taken into account that it is a temporary adaptation, so the speed of circulation must be reduced, suitable for any space under construction (it has been indicated that the maximum will be 20 kilometers per hour).
The Councilor for Town Planning, Pepa Gisbert, explained that the City Council has carried out this provisional intervention after the company that was executing the expansion of the sewerage network that runs through Els Castellans has abandoned the work, leaving the road unpaved.
Gisbert has added that the technical services of the City Council are working on the termination of the contract with this company (Works and Projects Category) for having breached the execution deadlines. Then the remaining work will be tendered again (only 150 meters of pipes of the 1,192 meters that the project included and paving the street remain to be installed), a process that can take months, so it was necessary to intervene to guarantee minimum security to the residents and users of this road.
Gisbert has regretted the inconvenience and problems that the company's non-compliance has generated for the neighborhood.
