
From the Department of Culture of the City Hall of Ondara It has been remembered that everything is finished for the celebration, next week, of the 4th edition of the sonafilm, he Marina Alta Film Music Festival 2022, which this year is dedicated to the figure and career of the Italian film music composer Ennio Morricone, and which will be held next week, from Wednesday 17 to Sunday 21 August, in Ondara, Dénia and El Verger, offering a wide programming. The different events that will be offered from August 17 to 21, framed in the 4th Sonafilm, are the following:
Wednesday August 17 at the Ondara bullring. At 10:00 p.m., the public will be able to enjoy the documentary "Ennio, the Maestro", by Director Giuseppe Tornatore, a filmmaker in love with the Italian composer and a great close friend, who wanted to pay tribute to Morricone with this jewel of a documentary in which directors participate and artists of the stature of Tarantino, Bertolucci, Oliver Stone, Bruce Springsteen, Clint Eastwood, Hans Zimmer or John Williams among others. This event, aimed at families, is free to enter.
Thursday, August 18 at 8:00 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Casa de Cultura del Verger. Recital created especially for the occasion and that will premiere this day, composed by the duo formed by Aljibe Artists; the clarinetist JM Santandreu (soloist of the Universal Symphony Orchestra and Yamaha Artist), and the prestigious pianist Christian Esteve. "Intimate Morricone" is a journey through the intimate and characteristic sound of the piano and clarinet through the deepest and most distinctive melodies of the Italian composer. Free admission until the room's capacity is full.
Friday, August 19 at 12 noon at the Multiespai el Androna located in the facilities of Baleària Puerto (Dénia). "Cinema Music Talk", directed and presented by the guest and recognized personality within film music, Conrado Xalabarder, a recognized specialist in film music of international prestige, and author of several books on music in the seventh art. Free admission until the room's capacity is full.
Friday, August 19 at 10:30 p.m. in the Torrecremada Park in Dénia. Concert by the Moanin' Project group, with the same format as a "Culture Pop" band with its 10 components to offer a program to the most nostalgic of the best pop/rock of the 70s and 80s with the show "Forrest Gump Songs", dedicated to the most popular songs that appear in this film, where apart from the famous Soundtrack by composer Alan Silvestri, you can find iconic themes from groups and performers such as Elvis Presley, Rooftop Singers, Bob Dylan, The Beach Boys, The Doors, Simon and Garfunkel, The Birds, Harry Nilsson, The Supremas or Scott Mackenzi, among others. Free admission.
Saturday August 20 at 11 pm at the Ondara bullring. The "highlight" of the Festival arrives. The famous and long-awaited symphonic concert that the Universal Symphony Orchestra will once again offer with the participation of the Vicarage Choir in some of the pieces they will perform. With more than 100 artists on stage (including musicians and singers) and under the baton of the Orchestra's Chief Conductor, José Martínez Colomina, they will offer a symphonic tribute to Film Music composed by Ennio Morricone, where you can listen to some of his Most famous soundtracks such as «Once upon a time in the West», «Novecento», «The Untouchables», «The good, the bad and the ugly», «Once upon a time in America», «Cine Paradiso», «Chi Nunca» or "La Califa" among many other soundtracks. Sunday, August 21 at 8:00 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Casa de Cultura del Verger. Recital "Movie Horns" by the ensemble made up of 15 professional horns by the Principal Horn of the Universal Symphony Orchestra and manager of "Mira qué Horn" Vicent Berbegal Coloma. This innovative chamber group will offer a varied repertoire of Soundtracks composed for the seventh art. A magnificent show to conclude the 4th Edition of Sonafilm.
