After two years of hiatus due to the pandemic, the Historical Xàbia merchants association recovers one of its most special projects. Comes back sorollius, a performing arts festival in public spaces designed for the little ones at home and for the whole family to enjoy.
As detailed by the artistic direction Albert Marsal, sorollius will start this Friday (September 16) with the traveling show Èssers, by the Castelló Xarop Teatre company, which will begin at 7:00 p.m. from the Placeta del Convent. At 8:30 p.m. in this same square there will be a magic and clown show entitled a clueless magician, by the Magician Óscar Lasarte.
Saturday's program will be intense. At 12:15 p.m. the storyteller Camí de Nora will tell the traditional tale History of Mig Pollastre in the Plaza de la Iglesia and at 1:15 p.m. there will be a plastic arts workshop by AEIOU in the Plaza de la Iglesia. In the afternoon, at 7:30 p.m., the festival will close with the traveling show “Balls de Poble's” by the Estranya Companya, starting from the Plaza de la Iglesia and ending at the Placeta del Convent.
Sorollius is promoted by the association of merchants Xàbia Histórica and has the collaboration of the Department of Economic Development of Xàbia with a vocation to boost the cultural, commercial and hospitality offer of the Historic Center. The councilor of commerce, Marta Bañuls, has invited the entire population to enjoy this festival and everything that Xàbia Histórica offers, such as its gastronomy, commerce and public spaces.

Friday September 16
- At 7:00 p.m. traveling show, ESSERS, by XAROP THEATER. Start from the Placeta del Convent, continue to the Plaza de la Iglesia and return to the Placeta del Convent.
- At 8:30 p.m. Magic and clown show A CLUELESS MAGICIAN, by the Magician Lasarte. In the Placeta del Convent.
Saturday September 17
- At 12:15 p.m. storytelling HISTORY OF MIG POLLASTRE, by CAMÍ DE NORA, in the Plaza de la Iglesia.
- At 1:15 p.m. plastic arts workshop THE SUN SHINES ON XÀBIA, with AEIOU in the Plaza de la Iglesia.
- At 7:30 p.m. traveling show BALLS OF PEOPLE, in charge of ESTRANYA CIA. It starts from the Plaza de la Iglesia and ends at the Placeta del Convent.
More cultural activities on the weekend
Xàbia begins the course with a cultural agenda and of leisure full of proposals. This weekend, in addition to the firewater castle scheduled on Friday next to La Grava beach and the "Sorollius" festival for family audiences that will take place on Friday and Saturday in the Historic Center, the Department of Culture has scheduled two completely free concerts of very different styles.
One will be on Saturday, at 9:30 p.m. in the church of Sant Bertomeu, by the Universal Chamber Orchestra. A group of more than 20 musicians that will perform a repertoire focused on film music, with some of the most emblematic soundtracks.
On Sunday morning, all fans of the lindy hop They have an appointment in the Comare Maruja Varó square, in the port. At 12 noon Daisy'S Swing Band, a group from the Benissa jazz school, will perform yes fa sol.
Also in Duanes, on Saturday afternoon (at 7:00 p.m.) a concert is scheduled on Paseo Joaquín Sorolla by the Colla Xirimitab's and the Vall d'Ebo Municipal Band as part of the exchange program of the Valencian Federation of Entities Musicals (FSMCV).
