Xàbia welcomes the month of October with the intense cultural and institutional agenda with which each year commemorates the day of the valencians and the Valencians, the October 9. Councilor Quico Moragues has detailed an attractive free 100% program that brings together performing arts, literature and music, this year with a special wink for children.
In addition, as is customary, the City Council will celebrate the anniversary with the delivery of the XXVI Vila de Xàbia awards, which this year will distinguish the Musical Art Center of Xàbia, Pep Segarra and Esperanza Salvatierra posthumously.
Programming
The institutional act will be on Friday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the church square. It will be outdoors in order to accommodate all the winners, especially the members of the groups of the Musical Art Center (band, orchestra and youth band) who will also perform some pieces during the ceremony.
The program starts this Friday (at 8:00 p.m. at the Casa de la Cultura) with the presentation of the book “Estimat amic” by Cristòfol Bisquert and on Saturday the 1st (at 5:30 p.m. at the Casa de Cultura) there will be a theater children with the representation of "Paraules a les butxaques" by the company Los Combis.
On Sunday the musical tradition of the Grup de Danses Portitxol will take over the church square with a stage show that combines dance with audiovisual. The performance will be at 10 p.m.
On Thursday, October 6 (at 8:00 p.m. in the Casa de Cultura) the gastronomic book “Cuineres del territori” by Josep Bernabeu and María Tormo will be presented; and on Friday at 6:00 p.m. on Paseo David Ferrer del Arenal there will be a circus show entitled "Plumbing, circus and poetry 2.0." by the company Jacinto Sifon Fontana.
On Saturday, October 8 at 9:30 p.m. in the church of Sant Bertomeu, the Youth Band of the Artistic Musical Center will offer an extraordinary concert on October 9.
Sunday, the day of the party, will begin with energy and a lot of rhythm thanks to the performance of the Ramonets group, which from 12 noon will offer a fun rock and roll concert for the whole family in the Comare Maruja Varó square.
In the afternoon there will be two concerts by the Colla Portitxol as part of the cultural exchange campaign. At 5:30 p.m. in the church square, Bellaguarda tradicions Altea will perform together with the colla de dolçaines i percussió from Xàbia and at 8:00 p.m., also in the square, the Grup Portitxol will share the stage with the colla La Socarrà from Xàtiva.
The October program will continue in Xàbia with the Performing Arts Festival sponsored by the Alicante Provincial Council and which will offer performances such as Musical Landscapes by Lolo García (Saturday, October 15 at 8:00 p.m. in the Casa de Cultura); the Rito dance by the Otradanza company (Friday, October 21 at 8:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Hall of the Portal del Clot) and the Señoras al bingo theater, by the Improvidencia company (Saturday, 22 at 8:00 p.m. in the Casa de Cultura ).
